Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2 September 2026

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on readysleek.com, why they are used, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains who we are, how to contact us and how we handle personal data. If you are visiting from the United Kingdom, this policy is written with the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) in mind: no cookie that is not strictly necessary is set until you have made a choice.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. Similar technologies include local storage in your browser and device identifiers. Some are essential for the site to work; others are used for measurement or advertising and require your consent.

How consent works on this site

Advertising on Ready Sleek is delivered by our advertising partner Mediavine. Mediavine also provides the consent banner you see on your first visit from the UK or the European Economic Area. The banner is a certified IAB Transparency & Consent Framework tool (operated by consentmanager.net) and lets you accept everything, reject everything that is not strictly necessary, or choose individual purposes and partners. Until you have made a choice, no advertising or analytics cookies are set.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time, and it is as easy as giving it: use the “Update privacy settings” link that Mediavine displays at the bottom of every page (or its equivalent in your language), which reopens the banner. Visitors from the United States are offered the opt-out choices required by state privacy laws, such as California’s CCPA/CPRA, through the same tool.

Cookies and technologies we use

1. Strictly necessary

These are needed for the site and the consent tool itself to work. They do not require consent.

  • Consent record — cookies named __cmpcc, __cmpconsentx… and __cmpcccx…, set by the consent tool to remember the choices you made. Stored for about one year so we do not have to ask you again on every visit.
  • Site statistics without cookies — we measure page views with Dackel Analytics, a first-party tool that runs on our own server, sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses in identifiable form and respects the “Do Not Track” and “Global Privacy Control” signals of your browser. Because it uses no cookies or identifiers, it does not require consent.

2. Analytics (only with your consent)

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — cookies named _ga and _ga_…, stored for up to two years, used to understand which pages are read, how visitors arrive and how the site performs. Google Analytics is loaded through Google Consent Mode, which means these cookies are only set after you have accepted analytics in the banner. Google’s own privacy information: policies.google.com/privacy.

3. Advertising (only with your consent)

  • Mediavine and its advertising partners — Mediavine works with a large number of advertising technology partners (the full, current list with each partner’s purposes and privacy policy is shown under “Settings” in the consent banner). With your consent, these partners may set cookies or use identifiers to deliver and measure advertising, limit how often you see the same advert, and, if you agree to it, personalise adverts based on your interests. Mediavine’s privacy information: mediavine.com/privacy-policy.
  • Ad-block recovery (Blockthrough) — checks whether an ad blocker is active so that the site can show acceptable adverts instead. Uses local storage or cookies only within the advertising consent you have given.

4. Functional (only with your consent where applicable)

  • Grow by Mediavine — the bookmark and share tool that lets you save articles. It stores your saved items and settings in your browser’s local storage.
  • YouTube videos — some articles embed videos. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), so YouTube sets no cookies until you actually press play. Once you play a video, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies; see Google’s privacy information above.

How to control cookies

  • On this site: use the consent banner on your first visit, or the “Update privacy settings” link at the bottom of any page to change or withdraw your choices later.
  • In your browser: every browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear local storage. Instructions for the most common browsers are collected at allaboutcookies.org. Blocking all cookies may stop some features from working.
  • Interest-based advertising: UK and EU visitors can manage advertising preferences across many companies at youronlinechoices.eu; US visitors at optout.aboutads.info.
  • Google Analytics: Google offers a browser add-on that disables Google Analytics on all sites: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Your rights and how to reach us

Under the UK GDPR and, for EEA visitors, the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data relating to you, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal. Details, including who the data controller is and how to contact us, are in our Privacy Policy; you can also use our contact page. UK visitors who are not satisfied with how we handle their data can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the tools we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes are reflected in the consent banner, which will ask for your choices again where necessary.
